Advantages

One of the goals of meditation is to develop Lean Consciousness. In order to achieve any goal, you must consider where you are and where you want to be.

Most people have trouble with this because honesty is often a mix of shame, pride, resentment, hope, and criticism. Meditation allows us to activate the brain more fully and to find truth in our life holistically, even while it aids us to relax without eating.

Seeking Lean Consciousness involves a series of internal reflections from not passing judgment to being in the moment and honestly understanding our actions at that time. The depth of these reflections grows as we incorporate our new experiences and this new YogaLean lifestyle. If we don’t truthfully establish our current state of being at any time, finding the path of least resistance to our goal (or destination) will prove difficult.

A shift in mental reasoning, while small, could be the boost you need to conquer your issues. For example, rather than accepting defeat just because you ate cake after dinner, cognitive therapy will shift the reasoning to a much more understanding one that accepts that you sometimes fall off the track but recognizes that that experience just provides another opportunity to grow. Meditation helps us integrate that way of thinking, acceptance, and forgiveness in our lives so that we don’t dwell on a mistake or a hardship or something else negative stuck in our brains. It will allow us to honor those thoughts and let them go away without judging ourselves.
